Scholarship Application

Scholarship Applications and detailed rules are also available at the Ontonagon Schools. Pease print the application, complete it and mail to the school.

Your scholarship may be designated as coming from one of the Trusts as established through the generosity of several individuals and their families (Glen A. Thomas, Robert F. Lindfors, Mary and Stella Gorney, Eliza Kidd, Evelyn Salter, Gus and Margaret Erickson, Ernest and Helen Toivonen, Regina Davey, Florence Strong, Stone Container, North Country Bank, Ontonagon-White Pine Rotary Club, and Horizon Home Care).  All general scholarships from the Foundation are the result of continuing support from many local families, former graduates, and local businesses.

To receive your scholarship, you must do the following:

            1.  Successfully complete a minimum of 24 semester hours, or the equivalent, prior to July 1, 2008.

            2.  Maintain a C (2.00) or better average for the 2007-2008 academic year.

            3.  Furnish an official transcript (or other acceptable evidence) to the Ontonagon Area Schools Business Office by July 1, 2008, showing the above requirements have been met.

In the event you are unable to meet the above requirements, you may request a deferral of your scholarship.  Your written request should be addressed to the O.A.S.F. and must be provided to the Ontonagon Area Schools Business Office by July 1, 2008.  If you do not fulfill the requirements and/or do not request a deferral in writing, you will forfeit the award.

Your award, which will be paid on or about July 15, 2008.  This is not a loan, but a scholarship.  However, it is the hope of the Foundation that at some future time all recipients will be in a position to make contributions to the Fund.
